Does SARS approve Arbitrage?
The Minimum Investment:
A minimum investment value is primarily due to fixed transaction costs in the arbitrage operation, which can significantly impact your profits. Here's the key point:
The higher your trading value, the greater your profit margin. Most of the fees, such as SWIFT fees, transfer fees, transaction fees, and exchange charges are fixed. So, with a larger trading capital, these costs make up a smaller percentage of your total transaction.
At present, the minimum recommended capital is R100,000. Trading with less than this may lead to negligible or negative returns after deducting fees.
Allowed Sources of Funds:
SARS is very particular about the origin of your trading capital. Your funds must come from a legitimate and allowable source. Ensuring compliance here not only avoids penalties but also keeps your arbitrage profits clean and secure. Allowed Sources of Capital Include:
